Black Box is a performance and function venue that provides a blank canvas for your creative or corporate event ideas. This venue has been designed to be adaptable – ideal for not only for day-time functions, but is also a great space for an evening’s entertainment.

Black Box
Flexible and Functional Theatre Space
Seating 240 people theatre-style, you can do pretty much anything in this space – from traditional raked seating before a stage, to an empty room with a single spotlight.
As well as a traditional theatre configuration, the venue can be transformed into cabaret, banquet, runway and various other styles, with in-house sound and lighting, a projector, specialised circus rigging and curtains.
We have appointed this space with all the technical requirements of a professional theatre while at the same time there is enormous flexibility in terms how the equipment (lights, sound, seating, dressing rooms etc) can be arranged and utilised.
Versatile and Adaptable Conference Venue
The Black Box can accommodate up to 300 people at a standing event, can comfortably seat 150 for formal gala dining, or be set up for product launches, exhibitions, conferences/summits, and so much more.
Hirers can also utilise a fully licensed lobby area for pre-performance or pre-event drinks, or alternatively use this space as a break-out area when in conference mode.

Raupō Room
If you are looking for a smaller, flexible space, we have the Raupō Room. It is a 91sqm room located adjacent to the café on the ground floor.
This space is flexible in terms of seating configuration and will suit formal and informal meetings, small group activities and workshops.

Rangimārie
Rangimārie is a unique offering. This space has a sprung floor and sound system and is 90sqm. It is most suited for dance, yoga and other movement-based activities.
Boardroom – Rangi
With a capacity of 15, our inner-city boardroom offers privacy, professionalism and comfort. A smartboard for all your presentation requirements comes included.
Accommodation
If you have guests coming from out of town, why not tell them about Hotel Give. It is located adjacent to the venue, which makes it convenient. The hotel is owned and operated by The Kind Foundation, and profits go back into social enterprise, which is even better.
Dining
There are several options for dining. Our onsite catering can design a menu for your group, or you can make use of Atawhai, our onsite cafe or the adjacent bistro – Number Six Bar & Bistro.
Parking
We will have onsite parking available from mid-2024.
In the meantime, we encourage your guests to use the Parkmate app, utilise public transport or use street parking.
