OUR FACILITIES

Wainui Park offers a wide range of accommodation types, from tent site camping, cabin bunk rooms, to lodge style ensuite conference accommodation.

Wainui Heights

Wainui Heights is a versatile lodge with East and West Wings, offering ensuite bunkrooms, conference rooms and kitchen/dining facilities. It is suitable for school camps, meetings and conferences, with added accommodation in the “South Wing’ if needed. Additional amenities include outdoor decks, log burners, break out rooms, drying room/laundry and grassed and paved playing areas.

What’s included

East Wing sleeps 46 pax, greets up to 90 pax and feeds up to 60 pax

West Wing sleeps 30 pax, greets up to 60 pax and feeds up to 40 pax

East Wing has a large conference room with log burner, mezzanine and outside decks

West Wing has a smaller conference room with log burner and mezzanine

Commercial kitchen and large dining areas with tea and coffee making facilities in both wings

Break out rooms and a drying room/laundry (available in East Wing)

Wifi is available

South Wing becomes available, when hiring the East or West Wing

Powell Village

The original Wainui Camp! Powell Village sleeps up to 106 people in rustic cabins surrounding a large central green. It includes a separate dining hall which has a fully equipped commercial kitchen. The amenities block has environmentally responsible toilets and showers, with disability access for both genders.

Camping Ground

The most picturesque camp site on the Bank Penisula, and the only one in Wainui! Facilities include a basic kitchen area with barbeque, picnic tables, ablution block and vehicle access of Wainui Valley Road. Our Camp Ground is open to the public for camping, but is also available to schools and other groups for exclusive booking.

Many school groups come to Wainui Park to enjoy a wide range of adventure-based activities, with experienced instructors whose expertise lie predominantly in running school camping programmes and adventure based learning. Our facilities are purpose built for groups, especially schools, and can provided your school with the ultimate outdoor experience.

Our staff know how to provide effective programmes for schools, and we have two programme packages available to choose from, depending on your school’s budget and teacher involvement leading activities. You can also discuss with us what your school wants to achieve in regards to theme – team building, leadership or adventure, and we can develop your programme with this in mind.

Located just over an hour from Christchurch, corporate, community and sports groups can utilise Wainui Heights, for conferences, retreats, or a team building experience that offers something quite different to an urban location – with scenery, environment and outdoor activities that cannot be duplicated anywhere else.

Wainui Park offers accommodation, conference rooms, catering and can tailor a programme of team building activities designed specifically for your group. From high ropes to coasteering and kayaking, our highly trained and enthusiastic volunteer staff team will ensure you have memories and an experience that will last a life time.

If your group wants to be more autonomous, you have the flexibility to organise your own schedule and catering as you wish – you are invited to take exclusive ownership of the facilities.
