Atawhai Cafe

Best coffee I have had in a long time. Great breakfast, service is great. Wish more places could make coffee this good, was so good I had to buy a second coffee to make sure it was common and second was as good as my 1st coffee. Fantastic staff great location opposite the gardens. Very well priced, I personally would expect to pay more for such a great experience… Everyone needs to come for coffee and meal.

Had a lovely visit to Atawahi Café. Unfortunately we weren’t able to try anything from the kitchen menu as there was an event happening at the time, but we still had a really great experience. We grabbed a couple of items from the cabinet and some coffee, and everything was delicious. The cabinet food was fresh, well presented, and clearly made with care. The coffee was excellent as well—smooth, well balanced, and exactly what we needed. The café itself has a beautiful atmosphere and a really welcoming vibe, which made it a great spot to relax for a bit. Even though we couldn’t try the full menu this time, the quality of what we did have definitely makes us want to come back and experience the kitchen offerings next time. Looking forward to visiting again!

Good music, not too loud. One of the best mocha frappes ice had. If you like your mochas more chocolate with a more subtle coffee taste(no burnt beans here!) You should definitely give this place a go. My other half was also quite pleased with their eggs benny too 😊

The cafe is opposite the Botanical Gardens, at the southern end of the park. Walking distance from the hospital. Good food and coffee. Something that really struck us was the relaxed atmosphere. Staff worked and greeted customers and colleagues with genuine smiles. Thank you, it was an oasis in our frazzled day.

Shout out to Atawhai Cafe stocking Alpro coconut milk as IMO only coconut milk worth making coffee with – was excellent . Lots of food choices including for vegetarians. Friendly staff and great location close to hospital and botanical gardens with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. What is not to love!! Try it.
