Climbing Team Leader, Adventure Centre

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Climbing Team Leader to join our team at the Adventure Centre.

Must be available to work evenings or weekends, when the Centre is at its busiest.

 

 

Key Tasks

Safely lead and instruct customers in outdoor adventure activities and indoor climbing
Lead and develop a team of instructors in the day to day running of the gym
Ensure all activities are conducted in line with health and safety standards
Facilitate personal growth, teamwork, and leadership development in participants and staff

ECE Teachers/Kaiako, Pūmanawa Early Learning Centres

We are seeking full time, permanent kaiako to join our teaching team across our two Centres.

 

This exciting role includes delivering the Te Whāriki curriculum effectively, building strong relationships with tamariki and whānau, embracing bicultural practices across the centre, and working positively in collaboration with other members of our teaching team. We are looking for kaiako who can exemplify our core values (honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring) and contribute to a positive learning environment for all tamariki.

We need you to

ensure the Centre is child-centred, reflective of our whānau and community values, be nurturing and welcoming
work across all age groups in the Centre and be flexible around rostered time in ratio and release time
deliver the Te Whāriki curriculum effectively, meeting all relevant codes of practice and standards
work as a collaborative team member

Casual Instructing Staff – Adventure Centre and Wainui Park

We are seeking enthusiastic and experienced casual outdoor instructors to join our team across two of our sites.  The Adventure Centre is home to the largest climbing wall in the South Island and to Clip ‘n Climb.  Located in Christchurch, the centre provides experiences such as rock climbing, archery and team-building exercises. Wainui Park is located on the beautiful Banks Peninsula and provides outdoor education experiences for school children from across the South Island.

 

Core Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with diverse groups, including children, teens, and adults.
  • Flexible and adaptable with a positive attitude

 

Qualifications/Experience

  • Experience in outdoor education, preferably in a similar role.
  • Qualification in outdoor recreation and adventure-based learning.
  • First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

19 August 2024 to 31 May 2025

 

Whilst at Wainui Park you will have the opportunity to develop skills in leadership and coaching, outdoor education delivery and develop an ability to work with a wide range of people.

 

The adventure activities we provide include:

work with young people facilitating our outdoor adventure activities
live onsite with accommodation and food provided
work with a fun group of like-minded people from around the world
