Chief Instructor, Wainui Park Camp

We are looking for a experienced outdoor instructor looking to step into a role where they will train, lead, mentor and supervise teams of instructors who are employed seasonally each year.

The successful candidate will be happy to live on site, work varied and adaptable hours to suit operational requirements, and enjoy and appreciate ‘camp life.’

The right person for this role has a love for outdoor education and adventure, is great with people, understands the principles of strengths-based leadership and strengths-based youthwork, and, most importantly, believes in the power of outdoor education to change lives for the better.

Receptionist, Hotel Give

Hotel Give is on the lookout for a friendly, motivated individual to join our reception team on a fixed term basis. Are you someone who loves meeting people, thrives in a busy environment, and enjoys making a difference?

This role would suit someone who enjoys meeting new people and takes pride in delivering warm, professional customer service. We’re looking for a positive, can-do individual who can remain calm, confident and solutions-focused when working under pressure. You’ll be an excellent communicator, both written and verbal, with the ability to learn quickly and work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Experience with booking software is an advantage, particularly Opera Cloud, although training can be provided for the right candidate.

manage bookings via phone, online, and in person
responding to email bookings and enquiries
cash handling, being able to confidently balance transactions

Theatre & Events Coordinator, Black Box

We’re looking for an organised and technically-minded coordinator to manage venue bookings and deliver a diverse range of theatre productions, conferences and events.

From responding to enquiries and preparing quotes to coordinating technical requirements and supporting events onsite, you’ll be the key contact for clients from first enquiry through to event delivery.

Ideal for someone with experience in venue, production or event coordination who understands how a theatre operates behind the scenes

Key responsibilities

Convert enquiries into confirmed bookings.
Coordinate productions, conferences and events.
Manage client relationships from start to finish.
Oversee technical and operational requirements.
Prepare quotes, contracts and event documentation.
Ensure seamless event delivery and service.

Wainui Seasonal Instructors

We are recruiting our instructional team for 2026-2027 season.  If you are looking for an intern/apprentice opportunity to log hours working with children in the outdoors, to kick-start your outdoor career, or, if you are looking for a change of scene while you work out what’s next but have enthusiasm, fitness, and common sense in abundance, a season at Wainui may be perfect for you!

 

These are full-time salaried roles with expenses for accommodation and meals deducted from your pay.

 

SEASON DATES

September 2026 to April 2027

 

Whilst at Wainui Park you will have the opportunity to develop skills in leadership and coaching, outdoor education delivery and develop an ability to work with a wide range of people.
