On Friday 6 November 2026, that familiar tournament-day energy will return to Weedons Country Club for The Kind Foundation Charity Golf Tournament. Played in an Ambrose format, the day will bring together businesses, supporters and friends of The Kind Foundation for lunch, 18 holes of golf, a buffet dinner, prizegiving and plenty of good-natured competition.

But this tournament is about much more than what happens on the course.

A tradition of giving back

The first Kind Foundation Charity Golf Tournament was held in 2012. Since then, it has become an important annual fundraiser, helping us continue programmes and services that make a positive difference in the lives of people across our community.

The funds raised help support school holiday programmes, youth development opportunities, children’s recreation, Life Fit activities for older adults and early childhood education. Many of these opportunities are provided at low cost or free of charge, helping to reduce financial, cultural, physical and social barriers to participation.

This is what On course for a cause means to us.

Every sponsorship, team entry and donated prize contributes to something bigger. It helps a young person take part in an experience they may otherwise miss. It supports a child to be active, learn new skills and build confidence. It helps older adults stay connected through fitness and recreation. It allows families and communities to access welcoming spaces, programmes and support.

A day on the green can help open a door somewhere else.

Where business and community meet

The tournament is also an opportunity to step away from the usual working day and connect in a more relaxed setting.

Across the fairways, businesses can spend meaningful time with staff, clients and other organisations that care about the Christchurch community. It is a day where conversation comes easily, teamwork matters and having fun is just as important as the final score.

As previous supporter Greg Buchanan of ANZ Bank described it:

The Kind Foundation charity golf tournament is one of the best value corporate tournaments held in Christchurch. It provides a format for all golfing abilities and is played in a fun comes first atmosphere.

That balance is what makes the day memorable. It is competitive without taking itself too seriously, social without losing sight of its purpose and enjoyable for experienced golfers and enthusiastic beginners alike.

Put your business behind the cause

This year, we want to build on the tournament’s longstanding success and raise even more support for our community programmes. To do that, we need businesses to join us as sponsors.

Sponsorship offers valuable visibility while aligning your organisation with youth, wellbeing, inclusion and equity. Depending on the sponsorship level, benefits can include event naming rights, branded hole signage, digital promotion, social media recognition, team entries, prize presentation opportunities and a speaking slot. Sponsors can also receive impact reporting through photographs, stories and programme information, helping show how their support contributes to the community.

Current opportunities include:

Platinum Sponsorship | $5,000 + GST

Limited to one sponsor, this package includes event naming rights, prominent logo placement across digital assets, social media promotion, entry for two teams of four, the opportunity to present prizes and a speaking slot.

Gold Sponsorship | $2,500 + GST

Gold sponsorship includes naming rights for two holes, signage opportunities, digital and social media recognition and entry for two teams of four.

Silver Sponsorship | $1,000 + GST

Silver sponsorship includes naming rights for one hole, signage opportunities, logo placement on digital assets and entry for one team of four.

We also welcome donated prizes, auction items and other forms of support. Whether you sponsor the tournament, contribute something to the prize table or enter a team, you become part of the wider story behind the day.

Join us on the course

The Kind Foundation has been part of the Christchurch community since 1890. Throughout that history, support from local people and businesses has helped us respond to changing community needs and create opportunities for people of different ages, backgrounds and circumstances.

Our Charity Golf Tournament is one of the ways we bring those supporters together. It is a chance to enjoy a great day of golf, strengthen business relationships and stand behind programmes that help people connect, grow and thrive.

So, gather your team, back the cause and help us take another positive step forward.
