Experience camp!
Our school holiday camps are designed to be a place where children and young people can make friends, have fun, be adventurous and most importantly, go home with positive memories, happy stories and new skills.
Wainui Park is a large camp on the Banks Peninsula and has a wide range of activities both onsite and offsite, including kayaking, high ropes, coasteering, archery and much, much more.
Arthur’s Pass Outdoor Education Centre, set in the heart of this small alpine village, is a smaller lodge and uses the unique landscape for all of the camp activities.
CAMPS AT WAINUI PARK
SANDHOPPERS CAMP
7-9 Jan 2026
Sandhoppers is a three day/two night introductory camp for 7–8 year olds, with a strong focus on social interaction.
The days at camp are jam-packed with traditional camp and adventure activities. These include a mixture of land, rope and water activities.

WAINUI CAMP
11 – 16 Jan 2026
Our iconic 6 day Wainui Camp is about meeting new friends, keeping busy on all our outdoor activities, experiencing independence and resilience, and discovering everyone’s own capabilities – all while having lots of fun!
- for 9-16 year olds
- drop off + pick up in Christchurch
- transport included to and from Wainui
- activities and cabins arranged in age groups
WAINUI CAMP
18 – 23 Jan 2026

ALPINE ADVENTURE
12 – 16 Jan 2026
Learn outdoor skills, environmental education and experience a first introduction to having an expedition during this 5 day camp. Activities may include hiking, river crossing techniques, shelter building and orienteering.

WETA WONDERS
19 – 23 Jan 2026
Learn a range of outdoor skills, make new friends and experience an overnight camp cook and sleep out. Activities may include learning how to cross a river together, shelter building, art activities, fire building, streamsteering, handheld radio games and more!

GRASSHOPPERS
