Yasmin was flown to Auckland by The King’s Trust, pitched in front of their panel, then received a life changing funding grant to help her business grow.  We are incredibly proud of her, Yasmin is a testament to what can be achieved by young people striving to succeed with their own businesses.  Here is what Jasmin had to say:

I’m the founder of The Flower Loop, a business I started when I realised just how much plastic the flower industry uses, and knew someone needed to do something about it.

The first couple of years were hard and honestly pretty lonely. I didn’t know many other young people in business and was mostly figuring it out as I went. One of the best things I did was attend the The King’s Trust enterprise workshop in March, held at The Kind Foundation.  Jaz, Micah and Zoe were so welcoming and supportive and it gave me a real boost of confidence and validation, not just in my idea but in myself as a founder.

I’d never pitched for funding before and was so nervous, but it was such a confidence-building experience and I still can’t quite believe I came out the other side with the funding I needed to grow The Flower Loop across Aotearoa. I’m so grateful for the work they do and would honestly recommend it to anyone even thinking about starting a business.
