School Holiday Programmes

 

Our school holiday programmes are based at the Bishopdale Rec Centre, Papa Hou in the central city, and Riccarton Primary School.  We also have a Rock Climbing programme that operates from the Adventure Centre in Sydenham.

All of our programmes are designed for those who love to stay busy during the holidays. These action-packed programmes are a perfect stepping stone to our overnight camps.

Over the course of the week we aim for the participants to build connections, trust, resilience and self confidence as they try new activities and practice enriching life skills, which is why we encourage attendance for the full week.

DECEMBER

For those schools who finish early, we are offering a week of programmes 15-19 December 2025 based at Papa Hou in the city.

If there is demand, we will also have 22-23 December 2025 available for booking. (fill in the snap poll above)

JANUARY

Three weeks of programmes are running at Bishopdale, Riccarton and Papa Hou between 5 and 23 January 2026.

Again, if there is a need, we will also offer programmes at Bishopdale for those schools starting back later, on 26-30 January 2026. (fill in the snap poll above)

 

Please note that our timetables may be subject to change at short notice due to staffing requirements, unforeseen circumstances or weather conditions.  This includes offsite excursion days, which might be changed to an alternative day.

Rock Climbing Programme

Our rock climbing holiday programme is a great way to develop new skills and be challenged! 

These 3-day programmes are perfect for children aged 9-14 looking to learn the basics of equipment, knots and skills to become confident  climbers with indoor and outdoor experiences.

The Adventure Centre provides all safety equipment (harness, helmet etc) that is required, however if you have your own, feel free to use it.

 

Indoor Days
Ensure you bring a warm jersey and closed toe shoes for climbing and games.

 

Outdoor Days
The climbing crags can be shaded and exposed to the wind. All participants will need to bring suitable clothing to stay warm when not climbing, and appropriate sun protection as well. Expect wind and drizzle.
