A variety of group classes are available for all fitness levels and ages.  Our classes are led by experienced instructors who are passionate about helping you achieve your goals.

Beginners Pilates

Block Course at Papa Hou

This beginner Pilates programme is designed to help you move better, feel stronger and build confidence in your body — whether you’re new to Pilates or returning after a break.

Each class focuses on learning and applying the core Pilates principles, including posture, breathing, alignment, and controlled movement. You’ll be guided through beginner-friendly exercises that gently but effectively work the whole body.

Over the 8 weeks, we’ll explore the seven functional movement patterns — such as squatting, hinging, rotating and pushing — with the goal of improving:

  • core strength and postural awareness
  • mobility and flexibility
  • everyday strength and movement confidence.

This programme is progressive, supportive and well structured, making it ideal if you want a clear starting point and a safe way to build long-term movement habits.

Runners Strength

Get ready in the next 8 weeks for the Christchurch Marathon!

Natacha will take you through this specific programme, suitable for runners of all levels, to target and strengthen muscle groups to increase power and efficiency, enhancing your running performance and supporting injury prevention.

Intro to Olympic Weightlifting

Ready to take your training to the next level?  Join our 8-week Olympic Weightlifting programme, designed to teach you the fundamentals.  No experience needed- just come along, learn at your own pace, and enjoy training along others.

 

Across these 1-hour sessions you will:

  • Build solid technique in Olympic lifts
  • Develop strength in squats, deadlifts and overhead pressing
  • Improve mobility through the hips, ankles, shoulders, and front rack
  • Gain confidence and stability overhead

 

Perfect for beginners and anyone wanting to sharpen their lifting technique.  Come learn, lift and get stronger with us!

Ashtanga Yoga Play

Block Course at Bishopdale

This 8-week term is designed for people who want to build strength, confidence and skill within their Yoga practice in a supportive, no-pressure environment.

Using the Ashtanga Primary Series as our foundation, each class focuses on one challenging pose or transition, broken down through smart warm-ups, strength work and clear progressions. You’ll explore things like arm balances, transitions, deeper folds and inversions — with options always offered.

The focus isn’t on perfection or “getting the pose”, but on:

  • moving well and building control
  • understanding how your body works
  • feeling stronger and more capable week to week

This is a strong, well-structured class that still leaves room to explore and have fun — ideal if you enjoy being challenged but want to train sustainably.

Power of Balance TREADMILL

Specialised Sessions

Open Ballet at Papa Hou

Everyone is welcome to this class although prior experience is recommended.  Designed for those with an understanding of ballet.  Our teacher in Term 4, Abigail Boyle, will help grow and refine your technique and conditioning.

We’re excited to welcome back the wonderful Glen Harris, who will be teaching this class in Term 1 2026.

Those who have been to this class before can purchase concessions through their GymMaster app.  Those attending for the first time can get signed sign up at Elevate Fitness Papa Hou reception, who will walk you through the process.

Bring Your Baby

Have you recently had a baby and are ready to get back into exercise and meet other mums/dads? We have some options for you!  Come along to one of our Bring Your Baby group exercise classes that run twice a week.

 

Yogalates

This fun and dynamic class combines elements of yaga and pilates to create a workout thats gentle yet effective. Perfect for new parents, this class allows you to bond with your baby while gaining strength. All levels welcome.

Tuesdays at 10.30am

 

Functional Fitness

Join us for a high-intensity interval training class designed specifically for mums and dads who want to get fit and bond with their babies/toddlers. During this 60 min session you’ll complete a variety of strength and cardio exercises with your baby by your side.  We can modify to suit all fitness levels – get ready to sweat and have fun!
