Wainui Heights is a multi-purpose lodge split into two halves – the East Wing and the West Wing.
It sleeps up to 88 people in ensuite bedrooms, has two connecting conference rooms with log burners and stunning views across the valley.
Wainui Heights makes for a great meeting and conference facility with a large dining room including fully equipped modern kitchens with self-service tea and coffee facilities.

Purpose built for community use in 1999, Wainui Heights is a multi-purpose lodge which is split into two halves – the East Wing and the West Wing.
The East Wing
Sleeps 46
Sleeps 46 people – 8 x 4-bed dorms, 1 x 2-bed rooms (all ensuited) and a 12-bed bunk room. All of the 4 bed dorms can be converted to double rooms
Greets up to 90 people – a massive north-facing conference room with a log burner, outer deck, lower mezzanine and stunning views across Wainui Valley makes for a great meeting/conference room
Feeds up to 60 people – a large dining room/kitchen with self-service tea and coffee facilities

The West Wing
Sleeps 30
Sleeps 30 people – 7 x 4-bed dorms and 1 2-bed room (all ensuited)
Greets up to 30/40 people – a small conference room with log burner, lower mezzanine and views across the valley makes for a cosy and meeting/conference room
Feeds up to 30/40 people in the small dining room/kitchen with self-service tea and coffee facilities

Both wings have access to the ‘South Wing’ which includes 3 ensuited 4-bed dorms – an extra 12 beds if desired
If the whole building (both East/West) wings are booked the dining room converts to one very large dining room/kitchen
There is an inter-connecting door between the conference rooms so if whole building is booked the West conference room makes a great break-out room
Large playing area which is a ‘shared’ common area for all users of Wainui Heights, as well as a concrete pad and basketball hoop
‘Old’ dining room from previous site – a basic wooden building that can be used for indoor activities, arts and crafts, etc
Powell Village
The original Wainui Camp!
Powell Village sleeps up to 106 people in 11 rustic wooden cabins. You get to enjoy a large central green plus a nearby soccer field.
It includes a separate dining room and a fully equipped kitchen. The amenities block has an environmentally responsible toilet/shower and disability access toilets for both genders.

Separate dining room and well equipped kitchen. The dining room tables are attached via hinges around the walls of dining room, so can be flipped up and locked to the wall allowing a nice space for indoor games and activities and making sweeping/mopping easier
Toilet/Shower Block: shower and toilet cubicles separate for boys and girls – with additional disability access toilets for each gender also. This block was built in 2008 and hot water is solar and/or gas powered providing an environmentally responsible and reliable source of hot water for showers
Camping Ground
The most picturesque camp site on the Banks Peninsula and the only one in Wainui!
Facilities include a basic kitchen area with barbeque, picnic tables, ablution block, and vehicle access off Wainui Valley Road.
Our camp ground is open to the public for camping but is also available to schools and other groups for exclusive booking.
